Kapton polyimide film (PI film) is an electrical insulation film that keeps its properties from -269 °C to +400 °C and offers high dielectric strength. Kapton Film Applications

PI Film or Polyester (PET) Film?
Polyester film is the economical option, typically used in Class B (130 °C) applications. Choose polyimide (PI) film when operating temperature exceeds 130–155 °C, when parts see short heat peaks such as soldering, or when higher dielectric strength is required. For adhesive applications use Kapton tape.
